Founded by Chef Ann Cooper , the Food Family Farming Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization created to empower schools to serve nutritious whole food to all students. Changing the outlook of our children's future through the power of choice, food and flavors ? real whole foods in schools will impact our families and our food system in a profound way. F3 supports positive change through educational training programs, direct services, a web portal and collateral resources.
Position Description
The Fundraiser/Development Director is responsible for F3?s short and long term fundraising strategy and development. This position requires outstanding writing and verbal skills and a high level of comfort with the public. The Fundraiser/Development Director represents F3 to foundations, corporations, potential retail sponsors and individuals for the purpose of building long-term funding relationships. He/She reports directly to the Executive Director and Board President.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement short and long term strategies for fundraising and the organization?s financial sustainability.
Solicit corporate, foundation and individual gifts with a focus on repeat and long term giving.
Assist Executive Director and Board President in identifying viable grants and contacting key program directors who can assist in keeping our organization in the recurring funding stream.
Develop strategies for cultivation and stewardship of individual major donors and prospects.
Develop annual plan for donor portfolio; monitor annual plan results and modify as necessary.
Requirements
A successful candidate will possess;
Five years demonstrated experience with a focus on prospect identification, relationship building and solicitation.
Work experience in the non-profit arena with a specific focus in childrens? health advocacy, education and food systems.
Strong initiative and self-motivation with a keen interest in working as part of a collaborative team.
Outstanding interpersonal skills; excellent research skills; superior written and oral communication skills; relevant computer and digital media skills.
Ability to work independently, and to function both as a leader and a partner within a team framework.
Bachelor?s Degree or higher preferred.
